Is fame and recognition all it's cracked up to be?
When under the spotlight, or microscope, of public opinion, when can you express and build your own (opinion)? Words.. words.. words.. what to think.. what to believe.. what to hear.. what to be..
I try to find a chance to ask the elderly about their life, if it went by quickly, if they have any (funny) wisdom, and what advice they would give. There's something to learn from everyone, anyone, as even the worst examples are meaningful, however tragic. "Life", says the elderly, "life goes by quickly".
Will I be/become the man I desire to be? Life is bound to have some regrets. How many will I allow to hang around that are resolvable? When under the microscope of public opinion, where's the opportunity to be human? To have the grace to learn, or the strength to stand up. There's freedom in few people knowing your name. There's freedom when just about the only book your name is written in is the Book of Life.
I can. I can not. That is, we will, or we will not. I am already known by the people that matter most to me. Is more than that always better?
